Site Miners are specialized mentors who support Johns Hopkins investigators access technology development and company formation funding from the Maryland Innovation Initiative (MII), a Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) program.

Three industry mentors, known as Site Miners, each focus on a different field, helping faculty apply for these MII awards. The Site Miners, hired by Johns Hopkins, act as consultants to shepherd researchers through the application process. Researchers should contact Site Miners at least two weeks prior to applying. Site miners nominate projects with a supporting letter. Site Miners sign confidentiality agreements with both Hopkins and TEDCO to protect proprietary information.

For more information about the funding program, visit our MII Funding page and read on to learn about Johns Hopkins’ site miners.
