A business team within Johns Hopkins Medicine that helps faculty translate the programs and protocols that they have developed into the marketplace, with a focus on improving population health through improved clinical practice, patient safety, quality of care, and administrative processes.

On-Campus Student Organizations
Alpha Kappa Psi
A professional development and brotherhood business fraternity, AKPsi is comprised of some of the best students interested in business. Throughout the academic year, AKPsi organizes many business-related networking and speaker events for Johns Hopkins undergraduates. This includes the Elevator Pitch Competition (EPC) where students have 90 seconds to present business ideas to industry leaders.

Hopkins Biotech Network
This organization brings together students interested in exploring career paths related to entrepreneurship in biotechnology.
Innovation Factory
This collaborative student-led organization connects students, alumni, faculty and friends from Johns Hopkins University’s nine schools to help foster the Johns Hopkins community’s entrepreneurial spirit. This includes providing access to learning, networking and investment opportunities.
JHU Venture Capital and Private Equity Club
This organization is designed to support students looking to explore careers in the fields of venture capital and private equity.

A student-run event focusing on innovation at the crossroads of medical entrepreneurship and technological development.
Medical and Educational Perspective (MEP)
MEP is a nonprofit that supports the development of medical solutions through the process of prototype development, clinical trials and commercialization. MEP runs two Johns Hopkins-recognized courses: a summer course where students complete field evaluations at hospitals worldwide and a fall course where students work in interdisciplinary teams to develop an executive summary/pitch.
TCO Labs
TCO Labs, Inc. is a nonprofit organization focused on fostering the entrepreneurial community at the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus.
Curricular, Co-Curricular, & Other Opportunities
Center for Leadership Education
CLE houses three academic programs and a variety of experiential programs in a student-centered environment. The full-time, faculty advisers are seasoned professionals in their disciplines as well as experienced teachers and mentors complemented by part-time faculty who are active practitioners in their fields. Whether a student wants to start a business, find an internship or hash through career decisions, he or she will find an open door and a resourceful sounding board in CLE faculty.
Digital Media Center
The Digital Media Center enables students to use new technologies to effectively communicate their ideas. The program provides access to equipment, software and workshops.
Hopkins Student Enterprises
HSE is part corporation, part student group, part classroom and part internship all rolled into one. The organization provides Johns Hopkins undergraduates with real-world entrepreneurial and leadership experience, a source of employment and income, the opportunity to develop a new student-run business and more.

This investment fund supports startups in search of seed funding.
Emerging Technology Connections (ETC)
ETC offers the following for entrepreneurs: Beehive Baltimore, a co-working space and Accelerate Baltimore, a 13-week program that provides $25,000 in seed funding.
Maryland Venture Fund
The Maryland Venture Fund makes direct investments in technology and life science companies through its two investment vehicles: the Challenge Investment Program and the Enterprise Investment Fund.
TEDCO
An independent organization that strives to be Maryland’s lead source for entrepreneurial business assistance and seed funding through a number of different programs for the development of startup companies in Maryland’s innovation economy. Programs include: Maryland Innovation Initiative, Technology Commercialization Fund and Technology Validation.
Towson University Incubator
Towson University’s incubator leverages an exclusive mentor network for counseling on issues that are unique to each company’s status and milestones.

Wasabi Ventures is an incubator and venture capital and consulting firm that specializes in building and advising early-stage technology companies.

Cupid’s Cup
A nationwide business competition that searches for the most passionate student entrepreneurs running impactful businesses. The competition is run by the University of Maryland in partnership with Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank.
Hult Prize
The Hult Prize Foundation startup competition is for budding social entrepreneurs emerging from universities. What would you do if you had $1 million to change the world?
Resolution Project
Resolution’s Social Venture Challenge (SVC) is a business plan competition designed to inspire university students to propose solutions to pressing social issues around the world.
