Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures invites top scientists, researchers, and innovators to present their groundbreaking ideas and startup concepts at the Johns Hopkins Innovation Summit 2025 on September 18, 2025. This prestigious event aims to foster collaboration between academia and industry, connecting visionary researchers with leading investors and executives in the life sciences, digital health and AI sectors.
Eligibility
We welcome proposals from faculty members, students, researchers, and FastForward associated companies from Johns Hopkins University with technologies in the life sciences, digital health and AI fields.

Proposal Requirements
Proposals must not exceed three (3) pages, excluding the cover page:
- Cover Page
- Company Name
- Principal investigator/Point of contact full name
- Phone number and email address
- JHTV case number for the technology, if applicable (ex. C12345)
- This information should appear as a stand-alone cover page
- Executive Summary
- A concise overview of your innovative concept or startup idea (Suggested length 250-300 words)
- Technical Description: Detailed explanation of the science behind your proposal and the technical validation steps you have taken to date
- The description should focus on how the Technology is unique/novel in its approach to solve an important commercial problem relative to other approaches in the scientific literature and other commercial products.
- Describe the status of the Technology’s development including the studies completed and the conclusions derived.
- Any preliminary data or other results suggesting that the Technology is likely to work as predicted should be included.
- List and describe the intellectual property or Report(s) of Invention involved in the project including the type of filing (composition of matter, method, etc.), filing and approval status, and an explanation of in what way(s) is the intellectual property strong (if filed) or likely protectable when filed.
- Market Potential
- Analysis of the commercial viability and target market
- Describe the commercial opportunity, clearly defining your target market, potential market size, and why your solution addresses a large, unmet market need
- Team Biography
- Brief profiles of key team members and their expertise (max 250 words per member–please include names, bios, headshots and a one liner about the company)
- Participation Goal
- Include a sentence or two outlining what you hope to gain from participating in this event.
Review Process
All applications will be reviewed by a committee comprising relevant industry members as well as faculty and staff. Evaluation of proposals will be based on innovation, scientific merit, prospective market impact, technical feasibility, commercialization potential, and team qualifications. Finalists will be notified in late April. Please plan availability and project timelines accordingly.
Program Information
Applications are due no later than midnight of April 6, 2025. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered. If accepted, selected participants will have the opportunity to deliver an 8-minute pitch to a panel of investors and industry experts and participate in networking sessions with potential collaborators and funders.
