Chad grew up in Maryland and was educated locally, with a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Master’s of Science in Engineering (M.S.E.) focused on Haptics and Medical Robotics from the Johns Hopkins University. He founded Root3 Labs in 2012 after having worked in the medical device and engineering consulting industries for almost 15 years. At home and at work, Chad enjoys digging into challenging technical problems, whether that means designing a microfluidic pump from scratch or breathing new life into a neglected bicycle (or computer, or motorcycle). He’s a Professional Engineer (licensed in Maryland), a Certified Solidworks Professional (CSWP), a certified forklift operator and trainer, and a commercial sUAS pilot. He also enjoys sharing his love of engineering and entrepreneurship with his wife & three sons.
