Programming

In addition to our own programming, FastForward U supports student organizations hosting events and workshops that foster entrepreneurship and innovation and facilitates opportunities outside of the Johns Hopkins ecosystem. This includes:

Medhacks

A student-run event focusing on innovation at the crossroads of medical entrepreneurship and technological development.

3 Day Startup

This 72-hour learning-by-doing campus program teaches entrepreneurial skills to university students in an extreme hands-on environment.

Pizza and Pitches

A FastForward U event series enabling student entrepreneurs to share ideas, network and attend workshops that address startup challenges specific to students.

HopHacks

A student-led collaborative event that awards cash prizes to teams solving real-world problems using technology.

I-Corps

This program by the National Science Foundation helps scientists and engineers think outside of the lab to develop business plans and perform customer discovery projects.

Space

Student entrepreneurs in the FastForward U program have access to dedicated facilities on the East Baltimore and Homewood campuses. These spaces in the Wyman Building on the Homewood Campus and FastForward East on the medical campus are open 24/7 and offer co-working space, meeting rooms and workstations for registered FastForward U members.

In 2018, the Homewood location will move to Remington, across the street from R. House and just a short walk from the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. FastForward East at Rangos transitioned to a student space in summer 2017. These spaces create permanent homes for student entrepreneurs to explore this extracurricular area of interest.
