The George Washington University and the Technology Commercialization Office are pleased to invite you to the 2022 Innovation Competition!

The Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) is showcasing promising and impactful GW research with commercial potential. This event provides a forum for idea sharing between GW researchers, entrepreneurs, and members of the venture community, as well as the opportunity to present technologies available for licensing to a panel of judges including experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals. Inventors will pitch their technologies for a chance to win $40,000 in prizes!

*Prize money is for the development of a prototype or proof-of-concept. $10,000 prizes awarded for best physical science and best life science project, as well as $5,000 prizes for 2nd place in each category. Additional $5,000 prizes will be awarded to the attendees’ choice for best poster in each category.

POSTER SESSION | 1:00–2:30PM Interact with fellow researchers, industry experts, and potential investors. Vote for your favorite posters to win two $5,000 prizes. Light refreshments will be served.

SEMINAR: Fireside Chat with Benjamin Holmes, Ph.D. | 2:30–3:00PM Dr. Holmes will share insights about his journey from GW graduate student inventor to technology startup co-founder and CEO. Dr. Holmes is currently CEO of Nanochon, developing 3D-printed devices for joint repair, and Interim-CEO of SonoStik, marketing an FDA-cleared vascular access device.

PRESENTATIONS | 3:00–4:00PM Pre-selected finalists pitch their technologies to win up to $30,000 in prizes.

AWARDS & NETWORKING RECEPTION | 4:00–5:00PM Mingle while the judges deliberate, then celebrate with the winners. Light refreshments will be served.
