InnovateHERs

Join us at Martha’s Table for this interactive event discussing why purpose-driven entrepreneurial women rise to the top.

Women have been at the forefront of purpose-driven entrepreneurship for generations. Whether it’s grandma’s special recipe for curing whatever ails you or the massive impact of women as the backbone of global social movements—women live at the heart of innovation and social entrepreneurship.

Join Ward Infinity from Johns Hopkins Universitys Office of Economic Development and Community Partnerships, Black Women Thriving EotR, and Barbara Kurshan, author of “InnovateHERs,” on March 28th, 2023, from 5:30 PM- 7:30 PM as several powerful women come together to discuss how they turned a purpose-driven mindset into a powerful and profitable business opportunity. Panelists include:

  • Barbara “Bobbi” Kurshan, Author of “InnovateHERs”
  • Maia Sharpley, Founder and Managing Partner of Odonata Ventures
  • Lisa Hall, Co-Editor of Investing for Social Impact, Economic Justice and Racial Equity
  • Moderated by: Natasha Dupee, Ward 7 ANC Commissioner and Alumni of Black Women Thriving EotR

This session will celebrate and validate women who choose social enterprise as an entrepreneurial path and help them create a roadmap for success. Participants will learn important skills needed to run successful purpose-driven ventures and showcase the value of their work. Doors open at 5:30 PM for hors d’oeuvres and networking before the event kicks off at 6:00 PM. Book signing will immediately follow the event.
