Speaker Bios

Sharon Ayd, PhD, MBA, CEO and Founder of Ayd BioPharma Consulting Group, LLC.

Dr. Ayd is an entrepreneurial-minded, C-level executive and Board Director with a passion for helping companies envision success while leveraging her knowledge to guide effective execution. She has 35+ years of experience in strategic planning, research & development, regulatory affairs, and operations. Dr. Ayd is an advisor to life sciences companies as they move from the nonclinical stage through clinical development, approval, launch, and into lifecycle management. She assists key decision-makers in optimizing their drug pipelines/portfolios, whether organically or via M&A. She has a proven track record of value creation, having overseen ~90 drug application approvals globally. Her career experience has ranged from startups to mid-size companies to Fortune 100 corporations around the globe. Dr. Ayd earned a PhD in pharmaceutics and pharmacodynamics from the University of Illinois, an MBA from Lewis University, and a BS in chemistry from Northeastern Illinois University. Dr. Ayd is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Northwestern University, Pritzker School of Law, and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Pharmacy. She is also a member of the Drug Discovery Institute’s Scientific Advisory Board at The Ohio State University’s Cancer Center.

 Jennifer Lee, CEO of JLC Advisory

Jennifer Lee is the CEO of JLC Advisory, a life sciences consulting firm that helps companies translate breakthrough technologies into life-saving treatments. Her company works with organizations in the United States, Europe, and Asia to help them go to market, scale their businesses, and revitalize. Jennifer currently serves on the boards of several private and non-profit organizations. Jennifer has contributed to the global approvals of seven novel therapies, generating a total value of $20 billion. She advocates for JLC Advisory clients, and in her free time, she works to reduce digital data waste. Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from UIC and a master’s in regulatory compliance from Northwestern University.

 Jane Wright-Mitchell, Principal and General Counsel at Lecar Consulting

Jane Wright-Mitchell is a business and compliance lawyer with over 20 years of experience advising start-ups, public, and private companies. Ms. Wright-Mitchell currently serves as Principal and General Counsel at Lecar Consulting, PLLC, a life sciences consulting company. She provides consulting services to companies in the pharmaceutical, medical device, medical technology, and cannabis industries. She was most recently the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary at Vaxcyte, Inc., a publicly-traded, pre-clinical stage vaccine company. Prior to that role, Ms. Wright-Mitchell served as the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of Steep Hill, Inc., a cannabis testing laboratory in California. Prior to joining Steep Hill, Jane served as the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer as well as Corporate Secretary for AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a public pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of acute pain therapies. She is experienced in advising biotech companies on a broad range of matters, including licensing, M&A transactions, alliance management, labor and employment issues, corporate governance including SEC reporting, regulatory compliance, clinical trial oversight, commercial launch compliance matters, IP strategy and portfolio management, litigation management, internal investigations and development of training programs. As a strategic partner, Jane actively advises senior management and the Board of Directors on these areas. A key goal is to minimize risk without impeding business objectives. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from Clemson University, a Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Chicago Kent College of Law. She is a registered pharmacist as well as registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
