The Graduate Fellowship for Entrepreneurship in Medicine (GEM) offers a two-year, cohort-based experience designed to equip future leaders with the skills, network, and mentorship needed to drive impact through scientific commercialization, innovation, and translation.
Fellowship Includes
- Full Financial Support
Two years of salary coverage, travel support, tuition for business courses, curated programming, and an additional stipend. - Hands-on Commercialization Training
Monthly sessions led by top venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders on topics ranging from IP and market sizing to fundraising and pitching. - Mentorship from Industry Experts
One-on-one guidance from venture-backed founders, investors, and faculty who started as PhD or MD students. - Exclusive Networking Opportunities
Admission to conferences, introductions to top VC firms, and invitations to premier events including the JHTV Innovation Summit and BIO International.
Ideal Applicants
- 2nd year+ PhD or MD/PhD students at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
- Innovation focused either through startups, policy, licensing, or cutting-edge translational research
- Strong communicators eager to learn how science can shape the world beyond publications
