- JHTV Celebrates 10-year Anniversary
This year marked a decade of groundbreaking innovation, highlighting the contributions of faculty and student entrepreneurs who drove transformative discoveries across various fields. - Johns Hopkins Innovation Ecosystem Receive National Coverage
The university was featured in national publications, Inc. and Fast Company, which spotlighted how Johns Hopkins emerged as a leader in research, education, and innovation with a burgeoning hub for entrepreneurship. - FDA Approval of Glioma Therapeutic
The FDA approved a new drug for brain cancer, vorasidenib, that targets the IDH mutation discovered by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. This approval marked a significant advancement in treating low-grade gliomas. - Dedication of the Pava Marie LaPere Center for Entrepreneurship
Johns Hopkins honored the life and legacy of Pava LaPere, a visionary student entrepreneur and co-founder of EcoMap Technologies, by renaming its student innovation hub the Pava Center. - Startup Successes
We saw multiple startup milestones this year including the $150M launch of Clasp Therapeutics, the opening of Infinity Bio’s new lab in Baltimore following its seed round, and the acquisition of Escient Pharmaceuticals by Incyte. - Launch of the President’s Innovation Award
Johns Hopkins cancer researcher Chris Douville received the inaugural President’s Innovation Award of $250,000 for his work using machine learning to detect early cancer warning signs. - JHTV Hosted the First Innovation Summit
JHTV brought together investors, entrepreneurs, and innovators to showcase cutting-edge technologies and startups for our inaugural Innovation Summit. In collaboration with the Carey Business School, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, PTX Capital, and Blackbird Laboratories, the event featured 14 Johns Hopkins teams presenting to over 70 investors and members of the Baltimore innovation ecosystem. - Celebrating Women in Innovation
This year, we highlighted FemTech, funded female entrepreneurship through our virtual competition for Johns Hopkins women innovators, Pitch It On!, and hosted a special screening of a female-founder-focused documentary, Show Her the Money. - New Collaborations
In 2024, we partnered with Danaher Corporation to develop new methods for diagnosing mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) using advanced biomarker technology and TriLink BioTechnologies to establish the RNA Innovation Center. - Techstars AI Health Baltimore First Cohort in 2025
Techstars, Johns Hopkins University, and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield will launch a healthcare AI accelerator in Baltimore, supporting early-stage entrepreneurs in healthtech, medtech, and biotech. This collaboration will leverage AI to create innovative solutions for better patient care.
