Social Innovation Lab | Our Team
The SIL team is composed of experienced entrepreneurs and business experts dedicated to helping socially minded ventures grow and succeed.
Alex Riehm, email@example.com, 410-955-8362
Alex Riehm is the Director of the Social Innovation Lab (SIL) at The Johns Hopkins University, where his top priority is to support startup nonprofits and social enterprises on their path to success in Baltimore and beyond. Prior to his time with SIL, Alex supported mission-driven organizations on their paths to scale with the Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) team at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID): USAID’s venture capital-inspired, tiered, evidence-based funding model. Alex has also supported post-conflict community development programming and research in Northern Ireland.
He holds a master’s degree in international affairs from the George Washington University and is a proud (adopted) Baltimorean, University of Florida Gator, cook and dog-walker.
Social Design Fellows
Social Design Fellows are selected from the Master of Arts in Social Design program at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) to provide hands-on support to SIL ventures in the areas of program design and visual design.
Our Neighbor-in-Residence provides cohort members with deep connections in the community and expert-level knowledge of neighborhoods, community organizations and local government.
