Social Innovation Lab’s eleventh Accelerator cohort is poised to make an impact starting right here in Baltimore. 70% of this year’s ventures are community-led and 30% have ties to Johns Hopkins with staff, alumni, or students on their teams.

The startups’ missions are diverse and include: revitalizing Baltimore’s industries, encouraging healing through movement, ensuring access to period products and breastfeeding, embracing movement as a standard practice in schools, creating social change and job creation through art, developing products and services to decrease dangerous escalations with law enforcement, and providing tools for women of color to achieve career and financial success.

The following teams received awards at SIL’s Innovators Showcase in April 2022. Congratulations to Ballet After Dark for being selected for our top prize ($25,000), Puzzling Disorder Project, part of HGE Designs for winning second prize ($15,000), and GRASS Baltimore for taking third prize ($5,000). TamPal also won our first ever $2,500 Audience Choice Award.  Watch the full showcase here.
