Located a short walk from Johns Hopkins’ Homewood campus, FastForward R. House features 9,000 square feet of office, co-working, meeting and wet/dry lab space.

FastForward U Homewood

A hub and resource network designed exclusively for Johns Hopkins University students, FastForward U provides students with dedicated innovation space.

In fall 2018, Johns Hopkins’ first student innovation hub, Fastforward U, moved from the Wyman Park Building to Remington, a burgeoning hub for entrepreneurship within blocks of the Homewood campus. Under the new name FastForward U Homewood, this 10,000-square-foot innovation space was designed with students in mind with various spaces large and small for events and collaboration including a 2,000 square foot maker space run by the Whiting School of Engineering with high-tech tools for crafting and prototyping.

FastForward U East

Our second student innovation hub, FastForward U East is located across from FastForward 1812 and features 3,200 square feet of office, co-working and meeting space. This hub hosts educational programming and provides students opportunities for venture exploration.

FastForward U East has the space and amenities startups need to develop their technologies and realize their potential.

FastForward East’s amenities include:

  • Private offices, co-working desks and secure storage areas
  • Conferencing and meeting space
  • Free WiFi and high-speed Internet connections

The Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County Campus, established in 1988 in the heart of a regional biotechnology cluster, includes two Johns Hopkins-owned buildings and two independently owned buildings.

The National Cancer Institute is a major tenant with more than 2,500 employees on site. In addition, approximately 35 startups and small businesses already lease space on campus, including foreign-based biotechnology companies.
