SUMMARY:How Startups Get Started
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Pava Center on Oct. 8 for a conversation with first-hires and founder-followers who have created startups. \nThere is more to a startup than the founder\, there are the people that help to start it up. Behind every founder is a team of operators that you have never heard of including positions such as: Director of Product Marketing\, CRO\, Sales Engineer\, Project Manager\, and BDR. \nThis panel is designed for those who are passionate about execution\, whether you’re contemplating a career shift to early-stage companies or looking for insights to advance in your current role. If you’re considering a move to startups\, the panel will guide you through the transition and show you how to leverage your background\, regardless of your field\, to become a vital member of a dynamic team. For those already working at startups\, the panelists will share strategies for building processes that enable lean teams to achieve exceptional success and pave the way for personal growth in these emerging career paths. \nPanelists include: \n\nAmanda Allen\nSteve Iannelli\nArya Satish\nMegan Huey\nNaomi Gordon\n\n \nPanel hosted by Margaret Roth\, Squadra Ventures \nMargaret leads the Squadra Portfolio Operations team\, working with portfolio companies to accelerate and resource key strategic initiatives\, support as an internal expert consultant\, and develop the leadership capacity of the teams. She was a co-founder of Yet Analytics\, a dual-use data interoperability and analytics company that provides software products to enterprise learning and training organizations across government\, industry\, and academia. An avid writer\, Margaret’s work has been featured in leading industry publications\, at national conferences\, and in a regular founder-focused column for Technical.ly. She received a BA in English & Environmental Earth Science and an MA in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University.
