SUMMARY:Hack-Homewood 2021
DESCRIPTION:Johns Hopkins University facilitates research efforts in countless fields. However\, these efforts consume significant amounts of energy\, increasing JHU’s carbon footprint and expenses. \nThe Office of Sustainability even notes that “labs typically account for 70% of the institution’s carbon footprint and use four times more energy per square foot than other university spaces.” Although\, labs only account for 30% of the university’s floor space. \nTaking place from Sept. 13 to Sept. 17\, Cobalt Consulting’s Hackathon will allow JHU undergrads to develop real solutions to this sustainability problem. \nAt the beginning of the Hackathon\, participants will be provided with crucial data highlighting key factors of lab expenditures. Armed with these facts\, participants will have the opportunity to create long-lasting change right here at Homewood. \nBe sure to check back here for further updates!
