SAMSUNG 2015 Global Research Outreach (May 31 Deadline)

We are delighted to announce SAMSUNG’s (Samsung Electronics & affiliated Samsung companies) 2015 Global Research Outreach (GRO) call for proposals and are seeking novel ideas in the following research themes (detailed CFP descriptions are under the research themes and available for download on the website):

Selected GRO applicants will receive financial support for their proposed project, up to USD $100,000 per year. This funding may be renewed for up to three years, based on measured annual research outcomes and necessity for further research partnership determined by SAMSUNG.

The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 31, 2015, 5 pm Pacific Standard Time = Monday, June 1, 2015, 9 am Korea Standard Time (UTC+9).  Notification of awards (via email) are expected the beginning of July and project start date on/after September 1, 2015.

All proposals are to be submitted and will be accepted only via the GRO online submission site. Joint research proposals from multiple universities are welcome and will be accepted through a single representative university. SAMSUNG will treat all information submitted in proposals as non-confidential and non-proprietary. Accordingly, SAMSUNG does not require, and does not desire, to receive any information that may be deemed confidential by the university researcher or the university.

GRO is SAMSUNG’s academic research collaboration platform and is held annually with a call for proposals open to the world’s leading universities. Through the GRO we truly hope to establish a solid partnership with you and your university. Furthermore, we wish to incubate creative research that will lead to true technological innovation.
